Dancing Lights (night time) - Original Painting

$5,000.00

24” x 48” (27” x 51” with frame)

The moody night time version of dancing lights. This paintings reminds me of a specific time in my life a couple years ago. After a 3 month stint of couch surfing, I had finally secured a job and an apartment. I would return home late from waiting tables, and take my socks off of my throbbing feet. I’d turn the lamps on in my apartment. They created this safe glow that protected me all of the chaos of the prior shift. I would make a cup of tea and stare at the moon. I was exhausted, but incredibly happy because I had a place that was mine, and a job that could pay the bills. You never really know what you have until it’s gone, and in those exhausted moments, I felt so incredibly grateful for my dishwasher, and my air conditioner. For my own bed, and for being able to be independent for the first time in my life. I was learning to trust myself again. That’s what this painting reminds me of. Hope. Safety. Trust.
